Susan Richards
WA State Director

Read Susan's Bio

Susan’s  mother was led to the Lord in a Child Evangelism Fellowship Club 70 years ago in the Middle East. She did CEF training and used their excellent resources as she taught children in the Middle east in schools and refugee camps and then in Australia as she taught Scripture in the public schools here for over 30 years.

Susan received the Jesus as her Lord and Saviour at the age of 7 after coming under repeated conviction of her need of Christ as she listened to the teaching of the lessons by her mother. At the age of 13 Sue began teaching children in camps held by CEF workers and led her first child to Christ over 30 years ago. Sue continued to do ministry with children and youth. Sue married a Child Evangelism Fellowship missionary (Ken) who came from the USA 25 years ago. Sue is the State Director of CEF here in WA. She has taught Scripture in the public schools to children who otherwise would never hear about the Lord for 25 years and has trained many to also teach CRE. She equips the body of Christ to evangelise and disciple children through Holiday Clubs, Good News Clubs and other programs.

After my life was radically transformed, my family and marriage restored, a passion and desire grew in me to see children reached with the gospel so they also would experience the hope that is only found in Jesus.

So far I have been able to shine the light of God’s truth into the lives of so many, through Good News Clubs, holiday clubs, camps and conventions and teaching children Scripture in a public school (CRV).

It’s been a privilege and a joy to see children decide to follow Jesus and to want to learn and grow in their faith. Please partner with me to reach children across Australia with God’s love.

I started with CEF in 2011 helping at holiday clubs and Good News clubs. I experienced the delight of the children’s workers reaching children for Christ by teaching and encouraging them to grow in their faith.

I have always had a passion for teaching and wanted to be a part of this organization. Through prayer and support, I became a worker in the Perth office. Since then I’ve taught and coordinated many Good News clubs, Holiday clubs and Scripture classes. It’s such an exciting and wonderful privilege to be leading children to Christ and disciple them in spiritual growth.

I am a qualified CEF instructor and coordinate ‘Teaching children effectively’ courses and run seminars. In recent years God has moved my family to Albany, in the South West of WA. My ministry now includes partnering with churches in training others, taking outreach opportunities through Scripture and holiday clubs, and to connect with families in the community through children’s ministries.

My burden is for more children to hear, those who don’t ever get to hear about Jesus, those that are left out and labelled as too hard to reach. I want other teachers to be equipped to reach more children, further and wider around the South West, for Christ and growing His kingdom.

I have been working with CEF for nine years. I grew up attending Good News Club and 5 day clubs as a child and really appreciated the foundational teaching it had on my life. As I grow older I wanted to be able to pass on the Gospel message to other children so they can receive the love of Christ too.

When I was 18 I did the Teaching Children Effectively training levels 1 & 2. This enabled me to go into schools and churches to teach children the Gospel. In 2015 I completed the Instructor of Teachers training which teaches adults how to give the Gospel to children. It’s so wonderful to see the ministry being multiplied reaching more children in WA. You can become a part of this journey in reaching these children for Christ with prayer and financial support

After taking the TCE 1 and 2 courses in Western Australia in 2011 I attended the Instructor of teachers course in January 2012. During that course God called my husband and I to relocate to NSW to serve with CEF.

In mid 2012 we moved to Sydney and I volunteered with CEF running Good News Clubs, camping ministry, scripture teaching and seminars and training. In mid 2018 I became a supported worker with CEF. For many years God has placed on my heart a burden to reach the children of Australia with the Gospel. It is a privilege and blessing to see children put their trust in Jesus and God’s kingdom being build right before us.

She currently leads Good News Clubs in the Riverside, CBD, and St. Leonards areas of Launceston as well as regular outreaches in Ravenswood, school holiday clubs, and CEF’s Festival Ministry. Stephanie became a Christian at the age of seven in Swansea, SC in the U.S.A. She got involved in CEF at the age of 16 doing holiday clubs. She heard in CEF training that 85% of those who accept Christ do so between the ages of 4 and 14 and received a real burden that children’s ministry is where she should devote her life. Stephanie worked with CEF in the United States directing the public school ministry for 5 counties and training teachers before moving to Tasmania.
